Youth Arrested in Murder Case at Victor Cullen Academy
Savier Stanley Exum, 17, of northeast Washington, is detained at Victor Cullen Academy on murder charges in Washington. He is held without bail at Frederick County Adult Detention Center and faces a bail hearing in Frederick County District Court today as a fugitive. The murder while armed warrant originated in June 1997 in Washington.
Hearing on tax cut proposal May 7
Frederick County residents may speak at a public hearing May 7 on a proposed one cent cut to the property tax rate. Commissioner Ilona Hogan suggests using part of the FY1998 surplus to fund the reduction from 2.26 to 2.21 dollars per 100 dollars of assessed value. The constant yield rate would preserve revenue with no funding formula increases. The FY1998 net assessable base is 4.46 billion.

Injured police dog earns canine honor despite wound
