Firemen Seek Grand Jury Walkthroughs of Public Buildings
Maryland firemen urge circuit court judges to direct grand juries to inspect public buildings for fire hazards. A witness report on the St. Anthony's Hospital fire in Illinois, where 69 died, prompted the move. Ocean City convention plans and rural fire training were also discussed. Political campaigning flared as candidates for the state association presidency attended. An exhibit of 20 to 30 fire equipment manufacturers is planned for Ocean City. The Urbana 4-H Club held its April meeting with sewing and patching lessons.
