Two Prisoners Escape From Montevue Jail
Two men, William Thomas Blank of Frederick and James Walter Summers of Charleston, W V, escaped from Montevue during the night by forcing a door in the juvenile quarters. Authorities were alerted and a lockout issued. Blank, awaiting trial for assault and previously held on bond, and Summers, jailed for DUI and license issues, fled while prisoners had been moved to the county home for remodeling.

Bullet Exits Head After 43 Years in NC
Bakersville North Carolina April 26 Thomas Burleson 65 of nearby Clarissa today exhibited a bullet he says dropped from his head after 43 years He was shot in the jaw in 1906 the bullet deflected through the roof of his mouth and lodged beneath an eye in a sinus It later traveled to the back of his mouth via a nasal passage the 38 caliber bullet caused little trouble over the decades.

Bicyclist Eight Escapes Serious Injury Here
An eight year old boy, Jerey Lee Williams of 231 East Sixth Street, escaped serious injury after his bicycle collided with a truck 40 feet west of the East Sixth Street and Middle Alley intersection at about 8:55 AM. Williams sustained brush burns on his back. The truck, operated by Clarence Frederick Fisher of Graceham, was headed west. Williams darted from behind a parked car into the truck’s path. Williams returned home after treatment and later attended school. The truck sustained no damage.
