Reckless Driving Charge Dismissed in Local Court
Justice Walter E. Sian dismissed the reckless driving charge against Mrs. Kefauver after a March 24 collision with a bicycle ridden by 72 year old Charlotte Shankle. Shankle suffered arm and knee injuries. Kefauver’s car reportedly struck while Shankle stood beside the bicycle. Defense witnesses testified Shankle was on the roadway and attempted a left turn. Kefauver’s car traveled 148 feet before stopping. Alion Bennett represented Kefauver. Also noted is the ongoing recovery of Mrs. Howard Zimmerman from an operation at Frederick City Hospital.
