She spent 28 years of marriage in Stillwater Minnesota before returning to Maryland in 1902 after her husband Benjamin Franklin Rice died. Now living with cousins, she plans birthday cake and a family dinner with Baltimore relatives arriving.
At a Tuesday meeting the Frederick County Medical Society unanimously urged the State Department of Health to establish a full-time laboratory in Frederick County. The proposal came after a dinner at the Catoctin Country Club and prior to a planned survey by health officials.
Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company received a new Seagrave pumper with 500 gallon capacity purchased last month. President Howard R. Gray announced the arrival and planned unloading today. The unit mirrors the county engine bought by Independent Hose Company. The old Stutz pumper was sold to a Virginia organization for six thousand five hundred dollars.
An exhibit of 300 Indian arrowheads and spearheads forms the current hobby display at the C Berr Artz Library, drawn from John J. Snyder’s collection arranged with his niece Miss Mary Florence Seloy.
