Downs coerced at police interview in wife’s Maryland murder
Attorneys for Edwin F Downs Jr argued at a pre trial hearing that statements he gave to police after his wife Anne Rita Downs was found shot at their 6602 Windridge Road home were unlawfully obtained. They contended rights were not explained and warrants tainted byImplicit custody and unlawful searches, while the state said Downs freely spoke and warrants were proper.
