Drug abuse panel views local effort

Mount Airy man charged in bank robbery attempt
Martin Erwin Lawson, 31, of Mount Airy, was arrested April 17 on charges of attempted bank robbery in the Woodsboro Savings Bank case. He allegedly entered the bank April 8, returned with a chrome revolver, but fled without cash. Lawson appeared before U.S. Magistrate Paul M. Rosenberg for the arraignment and faces up to 25 years and a $10,000 fine.
