The Frederick County Welfare Department asked the county commission for a total budget of 899 302 for the coming year, up from 872 273 this year. The request includes 164 317 in county funds 396 586 federal aid and 334 195 state aid. UFO chased from Ohio into Pa by deputies
Ravenna Ohio deputies and a police chief report chasing a bright object from near Ravenna to Conway Pennsylvania for about 86 miles in 90 minutes. Witnesses in Ohio and Pennsylvania saw a brilliant saucer shaped craft moving with apparent control at up to 103 miles per hour. The object resembled two table saucers joined and was photographed by Mantua Chief Gerald Buchert who was advised by the Air Force not to release the image.

Charles Cashour Jr. testified he stopped the vehicle. Magistrate Byron Thompson noted the light sentence due to first offense. The mother, Mrs. Harry Poole of Union Bridge, criticized tavern keepers selling to youths, branding such establishments as dangerous.

Area Woman Killed In Auto Crash Near Gapland
Vera Wilson Rhinaman, 44, an employee of the American Optical Company in Frederick and resident of Yarrowsburg, died when her car veered off U.S. 67 near Gapland, struck a tree stump, and overturned. Passenger Thomas W Gladstone, 56, of Brunswick, remained in critical condition with multiple injuries. The car was a total loss. a parked car owned by Marlin Mauk sustained damage. The accident was investigated by Th. R. W. Poffenberger.
