Montgomery effort to curb teen drinking in Rockville
Officials in Montgomery County launch a multi pronged attack to curb underage alcohol use. Councilwoman Gail Ewing notes a shared responsibility among government schools police and community groups. The plan includes strict enforcement sobriety checkpoints youth programs and alcohol free teen events. Support and training for parents will accompany outreach to high schools Churchill Magruder Wootton Whitman Blair and Wheaton with enforcement stepping up May 1. A 11-12 age of first use reported and hotline numbers provided for reporting sales to minors.
