Fraud Cases Await Prosecution
Washington April 10 The Justice Department testified that about 1 000 housing fraud cases await criminal prosecution. Assistant Attorney General Warren Olney said FHA investigated only a fraction of fraud claims from 1948 to 1952 and that FHA investigative power has been revoked with authority returned to the FBI. A Senate inquiry uncovered cases of fraud in federal mortgage guarantees and shoddy home improvement work by crews seeking loans.

The scientist notes a virus-like substance passes through filters and heats, showing classic viral traits. Further testing in animals is ongoing to confirm the theory.
