Wake mixup ends in stranger’s funeral for missing girl
Relatives mourned a stranger at a wake after police rushed in. Loretta Cunningham, a Baltimore teacher, believes her missing goddaughter Chante Smalls may still be alive though the girl who died remains unidentified. Chante, 16, had a troubled past and was in foster care when she ran away. Police later said the dead girl could be Kim Green, whose fingerprints did not match, prompting a reburial plan.
