Senate Oleomargarine Tax Repeal Favored by Leader Lucas

Washington April 3 Senate Majority Leader Lucas predicts the House-approved oleomargarine tax repeal bill will pass the Senate if dairy state senators do not filibuster. Butter regions may try to block a talkathon, but Lucas says a vote will yield passage. The measure would end federal taxes on oleo with labeling for public servings in triangular forms, and would not affect states that ban yellow oleomargarine. At the end, a note mentions an Antarctic South Pole elevation of 189,000 feet above sea level.
