Rail Unions Say Increase Is Not Enough

Chicago April 32 Two archite tion boards awarded 16 cents an hour wage boost to 1 220 000 railroad workers as unions called the sum wholly inadequate. Bert M Jewell said further raises would be asked promptly from the warriers. Some brotherhoods had not decided whether to join new demands. The award covered 15 non operating and 3 operating unions and was retroactive to last law. The strike of other unions remains unresolved and a fact finding panel is hearing related cases. The report notes wage boosts aim to curb inflation and may lead to higher freight rates. The Corinthians and Corcyreans sea battle reference appears as a non sequitur.
