Thurmont Holds Civil Rights Suit Over Property Rights

Thurmont residents sue the town and the State Highway Administration in US District Court Baltimore over claimed property damage and rights violations. Plaintiffs include Mrs George Paxson Mr Sam Starbuck and Arthur Hamerick of Frederick Road with Mrs Paxson represented by her daughter Mrs Lady Thrumbower of Berryville Virginia. The suit references a December 1976 public notice about plans to add sidewalks curbs and gutters on Frederick Road.

Charges against Bauman dropped by government

Washington AP Former Rep Robert E Bauman will not appear in court as scheduled after the government dropped sexual solicitation charges against the Maryland Republican under an agreement that he enter alcoholism treatment for six months. Bauman pleaded innocent last October to soliciting a 16 year old boy. He said the move ends the six months of probation while he considers whether to seek re election.
