Floods and cold season ravage New England and South
Severe weather left New England flooded and historic bridges washed away while crops froze in the South. Maine declared a state of emergency as floods worsened, evacuations mounted, and infrastructure suffered. In Texas and surrounding states, peach orchards faced near total loss from a deep freeze. National Guard mobilized, power outages and road closures widespread, and officials warned the disaster’s scale may exceed recent decades.
