Medal Contest Delivers Earnest Speeches at Chehalem Center
A varied program at Chehalem Center featured a silver medal contest focused on the cigarette question. Speakers Horace Terrell Davis Woodward Walter Cook and Francis Clark performed with training and candor Francis Clark won the medal. The event included chorus numbers piano solos and songs by Cecil Pearson Waldo Potter and Miss Jones. Children from town participated and Mrs Hannon spoke on the cigarette habit noting soldiers requesting no cigarettes from friends.
