Federal Food Administration field agent Mrs. Jennie Kemp spoke to Newberg high school pupils about the 95 percent pledge signed by Oregon housewives, urged continued wheat prohibition, and praised Pacific College and the Woman's Committee of the Council of National Defense. She addressed grade schools, the College, and the Wednesday Club, stressing home sacrifice and postwar needs.

Beginning June 2 the railroad schedule is revised. The Portland bound Portland Newberg train departs at 9 55 instead of 9 10. The Dundee local Portland departure moves to 2 20 arriving Newberg 3 41 and continuing to Corvallis. The Corvallis to Portland train now leaves at 4 05 after a 3 53 departure gate.
