National W C T U Mourns Loss of Elizabeth Hutchinson
National W C T U announces the death of Elizabeth P Hutchinson National Treasurer after illness in Seattle. She underwent tumor surgery by Dr R C Coffey but failed to recover, dying last Saturday evening. Daughter Mrs C M Roberts of Winfield Kansas and Dr Coffey attended. Funeral held at Finley parlors with church ministers speaking.

Pioneer James M Belcher Dies In LaFayette Home
James M Belcher a Yamhill county pioneer died at his LaFayette home last Sunday afternoon. He would have turned 92 on July 11. Born in 1823 in Taswell County Virginia he moved to Missouri in 1831 then to Oregon in 1850 with his parents. His wife Margaret died two years ago at 87. Surviving are a son Captain C T Belcher of Portland and daughter Belle Belcher. Funeral services were held Tuesday with interment in the local cemetery.

Memorial Day Observances Reach Across Willamette
Memorial Day events in Salem began with a 9 30 am line of march from Shiloh Post headquarters. Veterans, W R C members, and bands joined a cemetery ceremony and grave decorations.
