Patriotism in High School Eventful Week
Last Friday classes ended at 2 pm for a talk by county agriculturalist M. Shrock on gophers and moles. Students heard a trap setting demonstration and learned about patriotic duty amid drills led by Lieut. McNair. The staff’s annual went to press. a Hershey Chocolate Co. film night featured a flag salute and songs. Girls Literary Society installed new officers with thirteen new members. Ice cream and cake followed.

Largest Log Carried By Local Mill From Black Rock Camp
A log described as one of the largest ever was hauled from Black Rock camp and loaded into a single railcar. It measured 28 feet long with 6508 board feet and a diameter of 96 inches, nearly the maximum the mill could process. Conductor W. S. Jost noted it as the largest he has seen in seven years on the road.
