May Day Plans At School With Debates And Contests

Debating teams are to face Albany on April 16 while Pacific participates in the State Prohibition Contest at Salem on April 23 with Lisle Hubbard as its representative.

First Baptist Church to Host Sunday Services and Bible School

New Gopher Control Method Reported by Farmer
A farmer in the Ione Journal describes an old but risky method to kill gophers using gasoline soaked cotton at a burrow mouth. The fumes drop to the hole bottom and the gopher resurfaces for air before the gas kills it. The cotton wad is removed after about thirty minutes. The technique could apply to other burrowing animals.
McMinnville Paving Proceedings Questioned by Local Lawyer
A mutual friend reports Oregon law predated decisions saying property owners could not be forced to pay if objections were not raised before improvement.
