Tragic double murder suicide in Pine Street firm office
George E. Sterry, president of Weaver & Sterry, was shot by his son George E. Sterry Jr in his No 79 Pine Street office yesterday noon. The son then killed himself with the same revolver after leaving a long note pledging loyalty to his mother and lamenting the engagement of Sterry to Miss Rachel Briggs Blaikie. The elder Sterry’s death follows his planned June 3 marriage and involved a large drug and coal business with charitable work noted. The coroner and police reported both men died instantly and preserved the unsigned, rambling note found in the son's pocket.

Aerodrome Flies Twice In Tests At Hammondsport
Lieutenant Selfridge piloting Baldwin's White Wing completed two test flights in Hammondsport New York. The first session covered 21 feet in six and a half seconds then 100 feet in two seconds at three feet altitude, plus 201 feet on rough ground with no gear damage. Aerial wires snagged the propeller but caused no harm. In the second flight the aerodrome rose to about twenty feet and flew 240 feet before a rough landing in a ploughed field. Front wheel damage to the truck occurred but is easily repaired. The Aerial Experiment Association believes engine power is ample and air control solid, needing only aviator skill for longer flights.
