New Gallery Show Varies as Brangwyn Impresses

London critics find the New Gallery uneven with Brangwyn’s Rajah's Birthday standing out for its color and vitality. Lavery revives his color sense in a refined portrait group, while Reid and Rosenkrantz contribute strong likenesses. The gallery lags in landscapes and other canvases, and English reviews mock American plays while praising American actors' commitment.
