Powder Magazine Blast Kills Utah Miners at Daly West
At Daly West mine in Park City Utah a blast at the 1200-foot level destroyed two powder magazines. Thirty three men were found dead and many others were rescued in a dazed state. Runaway horse and champagne wagon crash on Fifth Avenue
A green horse pulling a wagon loaded with champagne and wines ran down a steep Fifth Avenue slope near Thirty ninth Street. The wagon smashed into a car at Thirty fourth Street in front of the Waldorf causing injuries to five women and a boy plus the driver. Mrs Shape suffered the worst wound from a shaft piercing the car. The horse dragged Policeman Curran into a fence before being halted. Several bystanders, including two police officers, aided the injured as medics dispatched to New York Hospital treated Mrs Shape and her son.
