Thaw Case Heats Court As Littleton Defends Sanity
Harry K Thaw's lead defense attorney, William Travers Jerome, argued that Thaw's life from infancy showed a hereditary brain disorder and mental illness. He depicted Thaw as eratic from childhood, recalling nurse and teacher testimony, and challenged the prosecution's evidence on insanity and premeditation. The morning session ended with Littleton pressing that Thaw was not responsible for the June 25 shooting.
