Western Conference Meet Held At Winthrop In June

Workman Injured In Sewer Construction Accident
Frank Walters of Waterloo Iowa was injured while supervising an excavating machine at a South Broadway sewer project by a trench cave in. Planks and timber failed to hold the sides. Walters fell from the cross-beam into the belt and was saved when the engineer stopped the engine. He suffered a deep thigh gash, bruises, and severe pain and was taken to Merchants Hotel then Loretto Hospital for treatment.

District Court Next Tuesday Trials Notice Grand Jury
District Court convenes next Tuesday March 9 at 11:00 a.m. with the grand jury reporting for duty and the petit jury not meeting until the following day. Forty cases are noticed for trial including 24 continued from last term and 14 insurance cases that will go over. Sixteen new civil actions are listed. criminal matters may arise, with four cases before the grand jury.
