In a hard fought district meet at Redwood Falls New Ulm defeated Sleepy Eye 47 to 33 earning a spot at the state meet in Carleton. Hoff led New Ulm with six field goals while Nelson Schueller and Fritsche also starred. Sleepy Eye’s Green and Hertz had high scoring for the runners up.

Community Club Formed In St Peter For Region
More than 100 farmers and business men of St Peter will meet to organize a Community Club for the city and surrounding territory. Judge Frank Ty Wilson of the University of Minnesota Extension Division will speak. he has organized similar clubs in over twenty Minnesota towns. A banquet begins at 7 30. The effort is sponsored by the St Peter Business Men's Association to build community spirit and united local progress.

Ex-County Attorney Davis returns from Badger trip
Sleepy Eye former county attorney L G Davis came back Saturday after several days in Badger Roseau County caring for the estate of his brother Dr N C Davis who died there weeks ago. Dr Davis owned the town diving store and land holdings in the vicinity. He came to Sleepy Eye in 1867 with his parents and grew up on the old farm east of the city. He left Sleepy Eye twenty five years ago and worked in Pipestone and Slayton before moving north. Dr Davis was about sixty five and never married. Celebration plan forming for 50th Indian Massacre anniversary
A meeting at the Commercial Club discussed organizing a city wide observance in August to mark the 50th anniversary. Dr J P Graff was elected president with Otto F Oswald as vice president Adolph G Meile secretary and Alfred J Vogel treasurer. A 100 member committee was proposed, fifty from Junior Pioneers and fifty from external groups, to arrange events. The plan aims for a restrained program with evening entertainments and small gatherings rather than large daytime festivities. Further data from the 50th anniversary will guide planning and committee selection, with March 17 set to present the 100 member slate.
