Columbia Clothing Company to form retail chain in Southern Minnesota
A new corporation, Columbia Clothing Company, will be formed February 1 under state law to manage and control several southern Minnesota clothing stores. It will own three shops in New Ulm Mankato and Madeira with officers A J Katz Fred A Meine and FP P Zschunke. Zschunke to manage all stores and relocate to Mankato while Meine will run the New Ulm store and Davis will oversee Madeira. The firm plans future store acquisitions and a regional chain. An infant child of Jos Zapfer of Linden died Sunday and a Star hall masquerade ball is planned by the Merry Brethren next Saturday. Wagene and Henry Grimes will move to Franklin to start a cement business.

BLOWN FROM HIGH BRIDGE ACCIDENT CLAIMS CALHOUN
The lifeless body of Lovell Calhoun, a 55 year old laborer and harnessmaker brought from Mapleton, was found under a railroad trestle on the Little Cottonwood river south of town after a night wind gale. Deputy Coroner Wood and Sheriff Julius ruled the death instantaneous from a fall after attempting to cross the high bridge, with no inquest held and remains to be kept for possible relatives. Calhoun had been in charge of the Dietz farm and previously lived in New York state, with two children now untraceable. The report also notes politics as Redwood county Democrats plan campaigns and name candidates for county offices.

WILL NOT STAND IN BRYAN'S WAY
