Night Marauders Rampage Damages Stork Firm Office
Thieves entered the Stork Bros office on German and Is South streets causing about 60 dollars in damage. They ransacked desks, smashed a safe, smeared ink on walls, destroyed furs, eggs, and a herring pail, and attempted to open the safe. Separately John P Schneider’s cigar store on Minnesota street was entered through a cellar window, stealing a watch, two rings, and chewing gum packages.

Police link two break-ins to same suspects at Schneider store
Footprints in the snow show two men entered Schneider's store. Max Hocine, Schneider's helper, entered at about 7 a.m. Monday and found the door open with gum packages on the floor. A hatchet and screwdriver found behind the counter, belonging to Stork Bros., suggest the same offenders were behind both incidents.

Roosevelt Dies in Sleep at Oyster Bay
Colonel Theodore Roosevelt died in his sleep at Oyster Bay at 4 15 a m on Monday from a blood clot in a lung. He retired at eleven, felt better, and bore no pain. Funeral planned for Wednesday at Christ Episcopal Church with interment in Young Memorial Cemetery. Flags were lowered to half mast nationwide.
