Man Found Frozen in Denkmal Park Mystery Lingers
A 65 year old unidentified man was found frozen in Denkmal Park between 8 and 9 am last Saturday. He was over six feet tall with gray beard and heavy repaired shoes. Police have no identification and may be an inmate from Nicollet County Poor Farm. The body lies at Buenger Funeral Parlor as investigators search for clues.

Old Local Institution Changes Management at Bentzin Mill
Fred Behnke and John HL Weddendorf became joint owners of the Bentzin Mill on the Cottonwood River, acquiring the mill and two nearby residences. Weddendorf will be represented by his son Arno, while Behnke returns to milling with plans to repair and raise a new chimney before reopening as the Cottonwood Roller Mill Company. The 1879-built mill can produce flour, meal, and animal feed with a capacity of 75 to 100 barrels per day.

Springfield Man Attempts Suicide Then Jumps From Train Near Lafayette
E Kearney a Wood Lake resident and Springfield bartender attempted to end his life Saturday at 7 am in Winthrop. After being dragged about 100 feet by an outgoing passenger train he was bandaged and released. He later jumped from a freight train near Lafayette, was found with bruises, and was taken to the State Insane Asylum at St Peter for evaluation. His wife and two children planned to move to Springfield where he held a job.

Golden Jubilee Planned for Holy Trinity Parish
Fifty years since Fr. Berghold first said mass here, Holy Trinity in New Ulm prepares a spring celebration culminating in a jubilee mass on June 16. The parish began with seventeen families from Chicago, grew under Berghold, built a school and a hospital, and names Rev. Schlinkert as pastor guiding jubilee preparations.
