Minne sota National Guard Holds Annual Meeting in New Ulm
The Minnesota National Guard met at the Radisson Hotel over Monday and Tuesday to set plans for an upcoming convention in New Ulm. About 200 militia officers are expected to attend between Christmas and New Year, per executive committee decisions. Col. A. W. Wright of Austin won Brigadier General after a hard 10 ballot contest. Major Albert Plaender was elected Secretary of the association.

Alumni Banquet Brings Strong Attendance and Plans
New Ulm High School alumni banquet drew nearly a hundred former students during Christmas break with dancing and a light supper. The event lacked Toasts, had light program, and prompted a piano fund drive. Brown and Redwood Counties medical association also met in the city with over twenty doctors.

Man Pleads Guilty in Window Spitting Case
Anton A. Henle faced City Justice N. Henningsen and pleaded guilty to willfully spitting on jeweler C. G. Reim’s show windows. He paid a $14 total fine and costs and was discharged. The act occurred Thursday around 6 am with prior weeks of window sputum along Minnesota Street. Chief Klause and C. G. Reim nabbed Henle in the act, leading to arrest and arraignment.

Floor collapse at Cumbria Eisteddfod caused near panic
At the Cumbria Eisteddfod a section of the hall floor gave way during New Year events as crowding near the rear caused the collapse. The timbers bent three feet, windows were opened, two women fainted, but no serious injuries occurred. A larger hall may be needed next year.
