Young Lad Badly Injured In Machinery Accident
Comfrey Times reports 11 year old Herman Renner of Selma was severely injured when his mitten caught on a gasoline engine crank shaft while pumping water. His right arm bones were broken and his thumb torn off after the shaft continued to turn. Dr Herron treated him. Nearby, Prof Arnold Gloor visited Comfrey while en route from Sherburne to Minneapolis.

Christmas Tree Committee Pioneers City Celebration Effort
City celebration funds near four hundred dollars were raised with help from the Commercial Club and local businessmen. J F Armstrong chaired the tree committee with Adolph Meile F W Johnson J A Ochs and Dr G F Reineke recognized for their efforts. Death follows corn shelter accident in Springfield
Joseph Krueger 28, of Mahnomen County, died in Springfield hospital from blood poisoning and lockjaw after a corn shelter accident two weeks earlier. He was single, worked on his brother Rudolph’s farm, and spent winter with relatives. Funeral by Rev Engelbart at Zion Lutheran, burial in City Cemetery.

St Peter Blind Piggers Up As Trial Ends
After a three day trial Andrew Kopp was found guilty of running an unlicensed drinking place and fined $75. His bar on Third Street was seized and the assets will be sold to fund the county school. A second case against Wm Coleman ended with dismissal for lack of evidence. Remaining hearings include Wm Edmons Claus Umland Conrad Vogt and Frank Tolan with dates in late December and January.

Elevator Fire Destroys Milling Company in Echo
A December 24 blaze at an Echo milling company elevator destroyed the structure and 10 000 bushels of grain. About 5 000 bushels of corn and 5 500 of oats may be salvageable. Fire, likely from an overheated stove, spread despite limited water. Insurance covers grain but the elevator itself, worth around 5000 dollars, was underinsured at 2500 dollars. The property is linked to former New Ulm residents and to stockholders Paul Voss and Albert Koch.
