Raabe's Cockerel Wins Prize at Omaha Poultry Show
New Ulm breeder Herman F. Raabe entered Rhode Island Red birds at the Nebraska State Poultry Show in Omaha during Thanksgiving week. A single comb cockerel from his flock won third prize as the Fourth District Rhode Island Red Club of America met there. The show drew top birds, and Raabe shipped two cockerels and a pullet, with the show secretary seeking to buy one of his cockerels. Raabe celebrates this regional recognition of New Ulm’s quality in poultry.

Farmer Volk’s Checks Are Declared Valueless in Nicollet

The New Ulm Commercial Club met to discuss reinstating passenger train No 411, westbound, which arrived daily at 11:26 a.m. except Sundays. President Otto J. Sleepy Eye duo fined after sensational police chase
Ed Cutting and James Roberts of Sleepy Eye faced $50 fines after a dramatic pursuit that started with a crash near Broadway and First North Street and ended west of New Ulm. Chief Harmening and Officer Wagner chased the drunken pair, leaping onto the fleeing auto to halt it before bringing them to the city lockup.
