Former Nicollet official shoots self in head

G A Blomberg Jr a former Nicollet county district court clerk is dying at his St Peter home after firing a revolver into his brain to avoid trial for alleged public fund irregularities. He had faced a four count indictment after a public examiner found a $8500 shortage later paid, with his arrest in Montana and subsequent bail. His death appears imminent.

Hungarian Boys Band Coming to Turner Theatre

The Schilzonyi Hungarian Boys band of 35 youths tours America and will perform at Turner Theatre next Saturday and Sunday evenings April 6 and 7. The group has received high praise from Twin Cities papers after a two week engagement, and the band is noted as a popular concert attraction.

Frogs halt Omaha road trains near Mankato and Bingham Lake

Minnesota House Advances Indian Wars Pension Bill

The Minnesota house in committee of the whole recommended passage of the Wright bill granting twelve dollars monthly pensions to all citizen soldiers who fought in Indian wars, expanding beyond disabled veterans. It faced opposition as potentially costly, with Burdett Thayer's out-of-state residency extension defeated. Also approved were two amendments limiting pensions for those already drawing federal pensions and delaying operative year to 1907.
