Death Claims Veteran Citizen Joseph Popp at Ninety
Joseph Popp a longtime New Ulm resident born May 21, 1818 in Baden Germany died after paralysis attacks. His wife and six children survive. funeral at Turner Hall this afternoon. He returned to New Ulm after serving in the army and various business ventures including a clothing store. He helped defend the town during Indian uprisings and lived a life of quiet public indifference. He would have marked his 50th wedding anniversary and 90th birthday next year. He is survived by Mrs Emma Cook Edward and William Popp Mrs Tillie Marigold Mrs Lana Snyder and Mrs Emily Heinrich. Funeral arrangements noted with attendance from California relatives limited.

State Gasoline Inspection Bill Heads to Legislature
