Reginald Rohrbaugh escaped with minor injuries when his car collided with a Western Maryland freight locomotive at Bittingers Station crossing on the New Oxford Sanover road. The train was en route Hagerstown to York. Rohrbaugh’s car struck the locomotive and was badly damaged. a sign was also damaged.
A new federal state quarantine took effect Monday in southeastern Pennsylvania to curb Japanese beetle infestation. The ban targets movement of truck and refrigerator carload lots of fresh vegetables and unprocessed cut flowers, covering Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton counties, plus York County and the York to Philadelphia corridor.
Barlow beats Granite 6 to 3 in a Sunday result. Cashtown defeats Brushtown 11 to 2 while Wenksville edges Granite 10 to 9. Heidlersburg tops Barlow 5 to 0 and Greenmount defeats Bonneauville 6 to 3. Next Sunday Gettysburg hosts Brushtown and other high school league games are set across five towns.
Automobiles driven by Walter Kuhn of Gettysburg R 5 and Edgar Bowling of Gettysburg collided at the Bonneauville intersection of the Bonneauville Littlestown and Hanover roads Saturday afternoon. No injuries reported. Each car damaged about 200 dollars. Investigation ongoing.
Harry Bollinger 75 of Main Street McSherrystown was hospitalized at Hanover with a fractured left hip after being struck by Francis Felix 36 of McSherrystown whose car struck Bollinger as he left the sidewalk in the borough. State police report Bollinger stepped into the car s path.

Harold E Auchey of Berwick sells to Harry H Mummert and Meda B Mummert in Berwick for 10000 dollars a 15 acre tract. Edmund W Jr and Mary X K Thomas of Gettysburg sell to William E Aldinger and Velma T Aldinger of Royal Oak Michigan for 11500 dollars a property on Seminary avenue in Gettysburg. Harry W Losman and Margaret S Losman of Conewago sell to Alvin R Henry and Almena G Henry of Conewago for 300 dollars a lot.
Dr. Harvey D. Hoover of the Lutheran Seminary Gettysburg, a native of near New Oxford, was among more than 150 clergymen honored Friday with certificates at the 10th annual Town and Country pastors conference held at Pennsylvania State College.
