The East Berlin High School Alumni Association held its annual banquet Saturday evening at Zwingli United Church annex. Fifteen members attended a baked ham dinner served by the Mite Society. Gerald Mumert led group singing with Phylis Lerew and Myrtle Kauffman also performing. East Berlin Girl Scouts Hold Session

Mala Lerew hosted a meeting at Fant Berlin Senior Girl Scout Troop 68 with Mrs Samuel Baam present. Discussion covered badges for the Girl Scouts to win the high Cuned Bar award and plans for a court later in June. Scouts plan a record hop with a refreshment sale to fund activities for the new season.

East Berlin to Hold Bond Session June 14 15 16

Charles Wolf, solicitor for East Berlin, announced a special bond council session for June 14 15 and 16. The council approved curbs and fire hydrant painting, and preliminary water system remodel plans by Engineer Saylor. They also approved accepting either county aid or gas allotment tax. Start Stitching 4 H Club Holds First Meeting

The East Berlin Start Stitching 4 H club held its first meeting at Mrs. Robert Gregory's home on a Monday afternoon. Extension Home Economist Helen Tunison of Adams County spoke about sewing baskets and fabrics for projects. Officers elected include Gail Boyer president Phyllis Harbold vice president Cynthia Harris secretary Pamela Eisenhart assistant secretary Jacqueline Tribby treasurer Jacqueline Waltemeyer and Jean Jacobs song leaders Beth Anderman Judene Cramer news reporters. Lower Adams Joint School District and New Oxford Area School District boards adopted tax resolutions Friday evening at New Oxford High School cafeteria. The measures include travel amusement per capita and occupational taxes and were signed by board presidents and secretaries.
