Motorcycle Crash Injures Man in McSherrystown
Carl Hake of York was injured Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle, following a stopped car on Main Street, McSherrystown, collided with a coupe driven by D. A. Tanger of Hanover during a left turn. Hake was treated at Hanover hospital for a laceration and minor cuts and bruises and discharged. The motorcycle sustained heavy damage and the car was moderately damaged. Dr M J Brennan of McSherrystown assisted. Patrolman L V Bomgardiner investigated.

Infant Swallows Open Safety Pin Wins Fast Removal
Eight month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Wagner of York Springs swallowed a three quarter inch safety pin lodged in the throat just behind the third rib. Doctors moved the infant to Jefferson hospital Philadelphia where a bronchoscope removal took three minutes. The child recovered and is cooing as the parents celebrate.

Deer Scarcity Blamed on State Opening Doe Season
With deer season closing, Cumberland and Adams counties report few bucks compared with prior years. Sportsmen say the open doe season two years ago killed many fawns and spike bucks. They also note that the game commission marksmen shot 118 deer in three weeks, including fawns, does, spike bucks, and some antlered deer.
