The Downingtown and Lancaster Branch passenger service ends December 28, prompting a major mail delivery reorganization. A new Monday start shifts seven receipts and eight dispatches daily, with 5 30 a.m. outbound to Lancaster and a 7 30 a.m. inbound to Philadelphia via star routes and trolleys, plus multiple mid day and evening through routes via Star Route and trolley connections. All eastbound Star Route mail transfers occur at Honey Brook.

Obituary of Miss Sarah G Good 79 Died Near Center Church
Miss Sarah G Good died at Phares Good home near Center Church on Sunday last of dropsy at age 79. She is survived by sister Mrs Mattie Horning of Ephrata and many nephews and nieces. Private funeral services were held at Phares Good home, followed by a public service at 1 30 pm in the Mennonite church at Bowmansville. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Death of Sarah Zook at 16 after typhoid fever
Sarah Zook sixteen daughter of Mrs Lydia Stoltzfus Zook and the late Isaac Zook of near Banks died Saturday night at St Josephs Hospital Lancaster from a hemorrhage following typhoid. She leaves eight siblings and grandparents. Private services were held Monday at Overly Funeral Parlor then public rites at Stumptown Mennonite Church. Interment in Belter's Cemetery near Ronks.

Electric rates to be cut after PPL merger approval
The merger of 28 companies with Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. was approved effective January 1, 1931.
