The Meyer Zausner Inc annual Christmas party for employees and families was held in the cheese plant on Monday evening December 20. Over one hundred attended as a lead baker contributed cakes and a large gathering sang carols and extended compliments for the affair.

The town Christmas Party for children, sponsored by Earl Lodge Lions Club and the American Legion Post, drew 278 youngsters on Monday night. Organizers Rev. George Wilt and others received high praise for the event while listed children from the selection of gift recipients were to collect prizes at Groff's Hardware Store.
The John N Sauder Auto Company and Chevrolet Olds dealers held a December 17 Christmas dinner at Blue Ball Fire Hall for employees and families in Manheim borough. Guests enjoyed a state themed movie, magician, music, and carols. Full time staff received red socks with silver dollars, ladies got candy boxes, and children received filled stockings.
The Constant Workers Class held its Christmas meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Carl Stoeckl with Mrs. Earl DeHert as co host. Gifts were presented to Mrs Yost and Mrs Rd Renninger. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Members present included numerous local women. next meeting planned for Mrs Herbert Evans’s home on January 18.
George G Kilhefner fifty s ight died at home after an illness Funeral services were conducted from his home and United Zion Church in Ephrata with burial in Fairview Cemetery Denver Survived by his wife Lena Kilhefner three sons Lester Paul Clarence his father George G Kilhefner of Hopeland and eight siblings plus seven grandchildren and many extended relatives The deceased was a member of United Zion Church and employed by Eph rata Shoe Company
George Benjamin Green eighty four died at 10 25 a m Saturday in the home of his brother Abner New Holland R 2 from coronary occlusion. He was a son of the late Charles and Harriet DeWitt Green. Survived by wife Sarah Green Philadelphia a son John Henry Green Chester County a sister Mandy Green Gap R 2 and the brother with whom he lived. Funeral services were held from Hill's Funeral Home Lancaster Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
Mrs. Lillian J Sellers Reidenbach, 81, wife of Peter J Reidenbach, died at the home of Mr and Mrs Hiram N Strickler in Lancaster County Saturday evening. She leaves a sister Sarah married to Harry Martin of Wilkes Barre and brothers Frank Sellers of New Holland and Harry Sellers of Philadelphia. Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Shelly Sellers, funeral services were held at the Mellinger Funeral Home in Denver with interment at Bergstrasse Cemetery.

Christmas Eve midnight service to be held at St Stephen Reformed Church. The choir will sing Christmas anthems as communicants from all Christian churches are invited to unite in the first hour of Christmas Day.
Mr and Mrs J T Tuck and son Stanley travel from this borough to New York to meet relatives Mr and Mrs George Brown and daughter Diana who arrived from Portsmouth England on the Queen Elizabeth The Browns and Tucks plan to reside in the borough Brown is Mrs Tuck’s brother

The New Holland Machine Company gave a silver dollar Christmas bonus to all hourly employees totaling 21 2 percent of their yearly earnings. Part-time staff and employees joining after December 1 shared in the bonus. C Delp distributed the bags and announced new holiday pay privileges for New Year s Memorial Independence Labor Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mr Delp thanked staff in a note for helping make the company strong and promised continued sharing of holiday goodwill.
Miss Ida M. Freeman wed Rothwin Sheneberger at the Evangelical United Brethren Church Brownstown officiated by Rev Kenneth R Texter. The bride wore iridescent wine taffeta with white rosebud corsage. A reception for about 50 followed at the Freeman home. The couple will reside in Bareville.
Martin Haas and Irvin Martin wed Saturday at 3 p m in Ephrata home. Rev A W Leibensperger officiated the service at 289 Church Avenue. Both couples are sons and daughters of local residents Charles Haas William Martin and their spouses.
Terre Hill Trinity E C Church will hold its annual Christmas Candlelight Musical Service on Sunday at seven. The program titled The Story of the Carols features organist Ida Lichty, soloists George Steinmetz and Carl Jabach, choir direction by Reed Slick, and narrators Geraldine Gable Elaine Lied Betty Bender Patsy Elsie Newpher.
Bridgeville Sunday School announces new officers led by George Witman as superintendent. John R. O’Martin is assistant superintendent with Clara Stauffer as secretary and Sadie Russell as assistant secretary. John Killian becomes treasurer, Peggy Keen as pianist, and Julia Horst assists as pianist.
A two week course for herd testers and supervisors at Pennsylvania State College ends with 17 men enrolled. A. L. Beam, director of agricultural short courses at Penn State, announces the program. Among those enrolled is George Vernon Krick of New Holland, route 1.

Conestoga Post No 662 American Legion and the Auxiliary held their Christmas Carol Sing and Party at the Legion Home last Thursday night. Wayne B Ranch and George Carmitchel directed carols with Missouri Yarns on piano. Santa visited and gifts were distributed after a program of piano pieces, recitations, a story, and a skit.
Trinity Lutheran Church holds an 11 pm Christmas Eve service with special choir music and J T Tuck singing O Holy Night. Rev George W Wilt will preach The Spirit of Christmas. Sunday School and film show at Trinity Church follow, plus Luther League devotional and parish social.

The Young Men’s Business League hosted 38 Cubs and 4 Den Mothers from New Holland Pack No 148 at the Parish House dinner. Holly Snow, a Lancaster Boy Scout executive, spoke along with John A Flora Jr on Pack No 148 activities. Santa gave gifts as Christmas songs filled the room.
At Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church two services are planned on Sunday December 6. The 10 30 a m Holy Communion will be observed and at 7 30 p m Rev Fred Bloomer of Akron will show two films The Dying Thief and He That Winneth Souls He is connected with the Sword of the Lord Foundation and the public is invited.
William Doughi was elected president of the New Holland Members Republican Club at the December meeting. Other officers are Joseph P. Morrison vice president Ivan P. Lowry secretary, Martin M. Mohler treasurer. Advisory board members include Rev. George W. Wilt and retiring president Robert L. Ressler. The meeting featured hot turkey sandwiches cranberry sauce and coffee.
I thank my neighbors and the New Holland Machine Company for flowers cards and visits during my stay at St. Joseph's Hospital and since my return home in New Holland Pennsylvania.

Rutter of Intercourse served as County Commissioner and butchered two hogs weighing 680 and 629 pounds totaling 1309 pounds. A guessing contest was held.
