Kansas City note from June 13 reports Will Rogers praising Hoover and deriding Republicans and politicians after a convention sweep. Rogers claims farmers benefited from rain and predicts Republicans will tout Hoover. He hints at a Houston nomination for a vice presidential candidate.
Numerous New Castle churches arrange a single daily service for July and August with morning worship preserved and evening services omitted. The city reports a warm June day, with rain forecast this morning. Daily vacation Bible school opens in Craton district as hospital nurses’ home construction progresses.
Amelia Earhart, pilot Stultz, and mechanic Luis Gordon flew a trans Atlantic monoplane from Newfoundland to Wales, beset by fog and bad weather. Stultz landed ashore to speed the gasoline search while Earhart and Gordon stayed aboard, confessing a blind flight most of the way.

Mrs Lyda Graham aged 55 of 1008 Huey Street is reported dead. Authorities list the cause as not specified in the notice. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Solthampton dispatch says Amelia Earhart, a Boston social worker, became the first woman to complete a nonstop transatlantic flight aboard the monoplane Friendship with two male companions. The plane landed on the water near Barry Inlet, South Wales, at 3:34 PM local time, and plan to continue toward Southampton.
International news from London reports the monoplane Friendship achieving average speeds over 110 miles per hour on a flight from Tre pasey Bay N F to Llanelly Wales. The 2400 mile leg took about 20 hours 9 minutes, marking a notable long distance air record.
