A Central News Dispatch from King's Bay reports the relief steamer Braganza, aiding General Umberto Nobile, is ice bound near Brandy Bay. The Hobby relief steamer is also delayed by ice between Walen Bay and Lommen Bay, with dog teams dispatched and Cape Placen awaiting contact as Nobile's party drifts slowly west toward Charles the Twelfth land.
A South Hadley incident sees twenty nine tank cars spouting oil and gasoline ignite on the Franklin division of the New York Central near Hadley. Firemen withdrew as heat intensified. About a half mile of track burned. Loss estimated around $100,000. Origin of the blaze remains undetermined.
In Superior Wisconsin on June 18 President Coolidge postponed a visit to temporary executive offices to spend a day fishing. He explored Brule river camp and fished at Cedar Island Lodge while rain kept to the lake area. Col E W Starling Secret Service assisted, as Mrs Coolidge rests. Navy nurse Mildred Beet assists the party.
Kansas City dispatch reports Republicans leaving the national convention confident that Charles Curtis of Kansas City will ease farm relief tensions. Leaders say Curtis as vice president candidate might quell agrarian unrest and the earlier talk of a bolt or third party has largely died out. Curtis supported the McNary-Haugen veto position but cited duty as Senate Republican leader.
Samuel J. Hamilton aged 57 of 924 Frankin Avenue is listed among recent deaths. Walter Reders aged 96 and Pulaski resident, along with George Felton of Woodlawn, are also noted in death records.
Sharon pa June 16 Miss Esther Jones, a piece of the Labor secretary, will testify to the advantages of having a car. Her uncle and aunt presented a new automobile as a commencement gift when she graduated from Grove City College.

International News Service reports a Philadelphia fire killed two children, Herbert Seltzer eight, Sidney five, who perished in beds. Their parents and infant brother escaped by leaping from a second floor window as flames spread before firefighters contained the blaze.
West Branch Iowa relumed to work after a two day carnival marking Herbert Hoover’s nomination. About 4 000 people from surrounding towns joined 800 locals for an all night jamboree honoring our own Herb as radio news from Kansas City sparked celebrations.
