School Bonds Paid Off in Lawrence County District
Controller Lyman C. Hughes has called in and paid off 25000 dollars in school bonds held by the National Bank of Lawrence County. Issued in 1896 the bonds were callable after ten years. This payment lowers district indebtedness to 200000 dollars and another call with 10000 to 15000 dollars may follow by January.

Eight-Year-Old Dies of Black Diphtheria Near London
Elva S. McCracken eight, son of Mr. and Mrs. J A McCracken of 238 County Line Street, died Tuesday evening at relatives near London Mercer County from black diphtheria. He had been visiting in the country with his mother and fell ill a few days earlier. Funeral and burial were at Graceland Cemetery after the remains were brought to the city Wednesday morning.

William Braham dies. longtime Western PA political figure
