George Tarbox of Big Creek celebrated his 90th birthday Sunday at the home of his nephew and niece Wrend Mra C Williams in Bridge. A large reception from 2 to 4 honored him with gifts including a potted plant from Myrtle lodge in Myrtle Point. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Alper Pancoast and many neighbors. The bash featured three kinds of cake with candles and ice cream.

City to Build Two Story Fire Station for New Truck

Short Cook found his ’32 coach wrecked after a hunting trip in Brewster valley Friday. Harold J Berg of Eddington Pa hit loose gravel near the Selden Warner place on Broadbent road and turned upside down in his ’37 model. Berg’s passenger Co R Suydam of Broadbent sustained head and heat injuries and was hospitalized.

Chester C. Simning of Bancroft, son of Percy Simning, served on the gun crew of the U S Marines battleship Chester. He earned a navy KE for efficiency, $12 prize money, and a one year ER insignia. Hunters Return From Two Day Lake County Trip
Return From Hunt er and Mra T M White returned Sunday evening from a two day hunting trip in Lake county near Harris Springs. They had very good luck, each bagging a large mule deer. The larger of the two, killed by De White, weighed 196 pounds. Sunday noon, Whe and his wife separated at their camp, one going east and the other west. At approximately 5 o'clock the two returned with a deer apiece. The deer were killed at the same time.

City Receives Latest Design Fire Truck From LaFrance
The city council ordered a new fire truck built by American LaFrance arriving in Myrtle Point on Tuesday afternoon. It features a 157 inch wheel base, two stage centrifugal pump, 350 feet of 1 inch hose, 1000 feet of 2 inch hose, a 100 gallon tank, extinguisher, and two hand extinguishers. Factory testing by National Underwriters approved it as one of the first of its type.
