Shuler Revival Ends Week With Promised Exposure

Evangelist Phil Shuler draws vast crowds in Myrtle Point as revival continues at Myrtle Crest Junior High. Campaign chair Leo Miller says the meetings, moving from Maple school gym, will end Sunday 25. Thursday Loyalty Night features school groups, Friday Family Night gifts, and Saturday Shuler's life story, with Page Four continuation promised.

High School Bonds Sold For Myrtle Point Upgrade

The school board accepted bids from First National Bank of Portland and Security Bank of Myrtle Point for 41100000 dollars of bonds at the Sept 14 meeting. Proceeds pay for an addition to Myrtle Point Union High and remodeling of the existing building with work expected to start mid November and completion by September 1 1956.

George McBride district manager for West Coast Telephone Co says a complete dial system will be installed for Myrtle Point and Coquille areas early in 1958. Additional switchboard positions are planned at Coquille in Oct 1955 and at Myrtle Point in Feb 1956. The company also expands line extensions toward Bridge area and rebuilds facilities in Gravel Ford and McKinley areas with costs around 25 000 dollars.
