Frank Draper son of Mr and Mrs J W Draper of Myrtle Point receives signal recognition as center on the USS Black Hawk 1934-35 champions of the United States Asiatic Fleet. Draper, a Myrtle Point High School graduate, is noted for splendid playing and sportsmanship as the team earns Navy ratings and eyes on all Navy honors. Car Wreck On Powers Road Involving R J Thompson

R J Thompson of Seattle Washington was injured when his car struck a railing on Powers Road near Rhods Creek Tuesday. He swerved to avoid an oncoming gravel truck from Myrtle Point, causing the vehicle to collide with a railing and suffer a sprung axle, wrecked radiator, generator, and steering apparatus.
