Bandon Drug Store Held Up After Hours

OC Shindler and his wife were tied and gagged during a Wednesday night robbery at Fuhrmar and Shindler Drug Store in Bandon. Two armed intruders forced the safe open then escaped with the car and cash after leaving the couple bound.

Future Farmers Picnic Sunday Gay Occasion

The Myrtle Polst Future Farmers association hosted a community picnic at the Lester Strong myrtle grove near the Lundy cheese factory. More than a hundred members attended with a potluck dinner, watermelon feast by Paul Breuer, and Breuer supplied entertainment including contests and races for men women and children followed by swimming at the Coquille river swimming hole.

4 H Club Contests at County Fair in Myrtle Point

4 H club members from Ccounty prepare to exhibit at the Myrtle Point county fair September 15 to 17 with exhibits entering judging and demonstrations. Girls enter the style dress revue while boys enter demonstrations as record books accompany entries. Rural Youth 16 To 25 Groups Organize In Oregon

Oregon extension reports a pioneer effort to organize rural youth ages 16 to 25. The South Forty club in Union county includes 25 members aged 18 to 30, with activities on production costs marketing transport and farm finance. Other counties form similar groups to meet youth needs as 4 H participation declines.

Two Apprehended For Setting Fires

Victor Graham and Allan Fielder confessed to setting fires along the Coast highway near Carpenterville while en route from Brookings to Gold Beach. Fires earlier in the locality, motive given as employment, led to warrants and $1000 bail. both were bound over to the federal grand jury after preliminaries were waived.

Rural Teachers Set Meeting in Con. County Circuit Court

Rural teachers of Con. County plan a Saturday gathering in the circuit court room for a preschool meeting. NYA Funds Boost Help for Oregon Student Aid

The National Youth Administration increases Oregon student aid funds by 18000 to 134060, with 23 schools in the group slated to receive proportional allotments based on enrollment.
