Grange Supports Hospital Farm Plan in Coos Coos Curry and Oregon

The Farm Security Administration through the USDA offers a wartime hospitalisation program to farm families at 16 a year per person. Oregon Grange backs the plan with local groups in Coos Curry Douglas Jackson and Klamath counties. Henry Bryant Dies In Portland

Robert Henry Bryant aged 53 once of Myrtle Point and later Bandon died in Portland where funeral services were held at Edward Holman chapel with interment in Portland Mausoleum. Born December 12, 1889 at Yoncalla he lived in Myrtle Point then moved to Bandon and finally Portland, where he worked in defense. Survivors include children Edel Bryant Coquille Ernest Bryant Myrtle Point Austin in the army and Roberta Bryant Waldport two sisters Delt Bryant Hood River and Mrs Albert Ames Pearl Harbor T H.

Farm Machine Repair Classes Planned At Union High School

Farm machine repair and related trades will be offered at Union High School’s agricultural shop starting Monday November 1 at 8 o’clock. The program covers blacksmithing metalwork welding and lathe work with two classes planned beginner and advanced, taught by Harley Parrish. Last year over 80 participants repaired or built about three pieces per person, amid scarce parts and parts supply concerns.

Missionary to Speak on China at Myrtle Point Church

Rev Perry Oliver Hansen, a 40 year China missionary in Shantung, will address a public gathering at the Myrtle Point Methodist Church next Monday at 8 pm. He and his family lived in Taian and Shantung during Japanese occupation and will share first hand wartime experiences. Admission is free.
