Mr and Mrs BD S Wallen celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the George Hamilton home in Arago with relatives and friends. They were married in Missouri on October 1, 1887, and lived in Oregon for 34 years, including Coggunmo, Stringtown, Myrtle Point, and Arago. The event drew 7 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous guests who shared in the milestone and gifts.

Loggers Injured In Sunday Wreck At Fock Creek Camp
Glen Wagner and Walter Billings were en route to the George Bryant logging camp when Billings lost control on a foggy narrow slick road. The car veered off the road and rolled seven times, nearly into the river. Wagner suffered facial and head injuries with torn ligaments. Billings sustained facial injuries. Vehicle declared a total wreck.

Coquille Valley 4H Poultry Team Shines Internationally
The Coquille Valley 4H Poultry club led by Fits Rackleff Fred Watson and Gerald Woodward won first place at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition. Rackleff tied for first in individual judging. two Arago members also aided the team. Rackleff, noted as a standout, has multiple state and county honors and has led the club as president in recent years. Woodward, a four-year member, helped the team place highly at the inter national competition supporting their county 4 H program.

County Arrests Lead to Assault Case and Other Local Crimes
Francis Davidson, 23, was arrested Friday on an assault with a dangerous weapon charge and released on a 2500 dollar bond. Cribbins, a Moore Mill employee, allegedly struck Davidson with a pocketknife after a dispute over a work line, puncturing a lung. Davidson’s survival was reported as 80-50. Morvan Raymond Rives, 22, and Ignacio Roque Ruiz, 25, allegedly stole a car near Coos River, abandoning it between Crescent City and Eureka. they were jailed in Coos County and may face federal charges for crossing state lines. Thomas John Whittington, 43, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a Saturday arrest, later released. Harry W Wilson, 90, and Stanley W Graham, 19, were arrested for allegedly stealing a drum of gasoline from a logging outfit at the bay.

A four boy Oregon Future Farmer delegation and instructors plan to attend the 10th annual FFA convention in Kansas City from October 18 to 23. The group will assemble in Portland October 14, with Oregon chapter funding half the trip for two representatives, Robert Lundy and Oliver Shu, who earned the trip for high activity points. Vern Hermann will receive 50 dollars for expenses from the state FFA as a candidate for the American Farmer degree. Teachers Sign Up For Curriculum Course At Coquille High
