The Myrtle Point Townsend club met Sunday afternoon with visitors from Marshfield and North Bend. C D Copeland of Marshfield spoke, followed by musical numbers from Madge Nelson, Roy Brewster, Jennie Neideigh, Vashon Hall, and Madge Nelson. E W Buckner’s upcoming marriage was announced, Buckner will speak, and the public is invited to attend the Townsend hall gathering.
Myrtle Grange hosted Booster Night with a potluck supper for about 60 attendees last Thursday. A lively program included games and an apple pie contest won by Mrs Joe Mast for first prize and Mrs Ray Robison for second.

Edward Ganong and Reta M Glenn married in Port Orford and Marshfield. Brault and Harris joined in Riverton. Wayne Kirkpatrick and Lucile Atkinson were granted license in Marshfield and Hood River. E W McLarrin and Marjorie E Lathrop wed in Lostine and Marshfield area.
Edgar Rickard city auditor presented a finance report showing the city's strong condition at the Tuesday meeting held at Floyds Cafe. R W Schaad, Smith Hughes Instructor, praised the Af C contributions sending students to the Pacific International Livestock Exposition in Portland.

The Coos County Fair announces winners across many divisions led by Otha Ray Myrtle Point for best mare or gelding two years old and under. Top honors go to Sam Dement Myrtle Point for saddle horses, with multiple firsts by Lyle Beyers McKinley in White Plymouth and Donald Smith Marshfield in Rhode Island beds and ducks.
Best burley samples awarded to Ray Spiva Broadbent and Mrs A J Mayse Dora while E F Hoffman Myrtle Point leads in sweet corn and popcorn. Other victories include top stalks of field corn for Spiva Broadbent and Miller, and several canary grass, mint, canning sunflowers, bent grass seed and table vegetable displays across Myrtle Point Coquille Broadbent and Gaylord areas with multiple firsts and seconds noted.

Albert Powers of Powers led Percheron horses at the Pacific International Livestock Exposition winning first and second in the purebred stallion on native years of art and second and third in yearling stallion colts.

Dr W G Beattie of the University of Oregon will address Coquille County teachers at Coquille High School Saturday at 11. The talk covers Curriculum Construction and a 12 lesson correspondence course offered by the university. He will meet teachers on two occasions as the series continues.

A head on collision near Salem between a roadster driven by Leo La Branch of Myrtle Point and another driven by state veterinarian W H Lytle caused serious injuries to occupants. LaBranch and Emerald Martin were en route to Portland when the crash occurred on a grape way. Both drivers were reported as not drinking. Dr Lytle sustained facial injuries and the passenger sustained a broken collar bone and other injuries.
