The Royal Neighbor lodge plans a round the world voyage with members leaving this month. Committees will present entertainment and refreshments at each meeting through May 31 when they return to the States. Ship officers include Captain Henry Schroeder and crew, with initiate Marianna Steele joining Monday night. The season's card party begins October 31 and Hebert Haughton hosts tea October 18.
Frank Weat age 47 was arrested in Mershfield on vagrancy charges and committed to county jail for an 18 day sentence. Jack Phinnegar age 32 was arrested in Coquille on larceny in a warehouse with bond set at 250 dollars and awaits grand jury review. He allegedly stole chicken feed.
Attendants at the morning service at the Church of Christ were surprised by a wedding ceremony after church. Pastor T M White officiated. The groom Opher Perdue of this city wed Misa Blanes Clay of Days Creek after the fellowship dinner.
Thursday morning session of the county grand jury was interrupted when prosecutors and sheriff officers rushed to the bay after finding an unidentified man dying near the North Bend Marshfield highway. Frank Carr alias Edwards admitted a quarrel over money. Edwards on parole from San Quentin claimed self defense. A bloody pocketknife and a metal tag marked CBTP 41 Vancouver BC 1914 were found at the scene.
The county court named W U Douglas Cac Lo Davis and George Hampton to join with the court on budget for the tax rolls. Relief warrants for Carl E Lindquist and Albert W Dunmire were canceled. Road damages warrants authorized for multiple property owners. Various complaints filed include promissory note suits, judgments, and foreclosures.
